Interesting concept for a fictitious German football team, FC Wurzburg! created by US designer Craig Pinto. The logo was designed to resemble the Bavarian Mountains with a
contemporary abstract assemble of geometric triangles, that form the mountain
range. It is great to see a different spin on the football kit and the triangles are subtle enough to not upset the traditionalist!

Artist Simon Beck is a man on a mission. Along the frozen lakes of Savoie in France he spends days walking through thick snow in raquettes to create these beautiful and intricate geometric patterns. Due to the unpredictability of the weather these amazing artworks may take days to create as Simon may have to recreate large segments of the design if there is an unprecedented fall of snow overnight.

I have recently discovered Lamosca a design agency that hails from Barcelona, Spain. They have a real penchant for clean Swiss typography and colourful, bold, geometric shapes. As well as producing identities and exhibition work they also create very interesting infographics that you may have come across, in publications Monocle, Wired and La Vanguardia. Definitely one worth checking out.
Russian designer Olga Kalugina has created this wonderful fridge concept that features geometric shapes. There is light on the doors that shows through when the fridge is on. The geometric forms continue inside with an innovative triangular shelf that can store bottles of your favourite beer! what more could you ask for. Design agency Designers United based in Greece produce some really great work a number of which are very geometric in form including this new packaging design for G. Papazoglou & Co company. The company is a supplier of ceramic tiles and kitchen and bathroom fixtures. These two new products are Industrial acrylic adhesive mortars, never has building product packaging looked so cool.

Mind Design is an independent East London based graphic design studio founded in 1999 by RCA graduate Holger Jacobs. They work across all media and have some fantastic work on their website including this identity for Russell Marsh Casting. As the company casts models for the fashion industry the identity is based on the golden section, the most perfect and beautiful of proportions. Various line patterns used on the stationery relate to the golden section and the overlapping lines create different densities and join perfectly at the edges of each format. Fantastic idea and beautifully crafted I love it.
Fred Troller (1930 - 2002) was an American graphic designer that emigrated from Switzerland. Born in Zurich in 1930 and graduating from the Zurich School of Design in 1950. Troller was best known for the fantastic graphic work for the Geigy Chemical Corporation. He later established his own design studio in New York working for clients such as Exxon, General Electric, IBM and American Airlines. Troller helped make the Swiss New Typography popular stateside. His work was heavily influenced by the Bauhaus school and his style was characterised by the manipulation of geometric forms, jarring juxtapositions of large and small types and visual puns formed from the fonts themselves. He later became an educator of design and taught at Cooper Union, the School of the Visual Arts, and Rhode Island School of Design.
Daniela Meloni's branding and 200 page annual report for the NWO (New World Order) is a fascinating idea that has been beautifully executed. For the uninitiated (including myself) the term New World Order is a generic term used to refer to a worldwide conspiracy orchestrated by a group of powerful and influential individuals. I particularly like the logo, created with geometric triangular forms that pays homage to the old illuminati logo. It is well worth checking Daniela's behance site for the full story. Great work.
Ann Suvarnapunya a designer that hails from New York has created this wonderfully understated brand that uses a black circle as a simple bold symbol for this modern mens grooming salon. The strong mark contrasting with the clean typography suggests an exclusive experience that keeps it simple and to the point. Fred Troller (1930-2002) was born in Zurich in 1930 and graduated from the Zurich School of Design in 1950. He worked for Geigy Chemical Corporation and later established his own design studio in New York specialising in logos, advertising, annual reports and book sleeves for clients like Exxon, General Electric, I.B.M and Doubleday. His style was typically Swiss; manipulating geometric forms with large Sans Serif typefaces. The work he designed for Geigy and the work he carried out in the US helped define the Swiss legacy in many US design agencies in the 60s and beyond. Great work from a true design genius.
Kathy Kavan a designer from London has a real penchant for modernist design and has created a plethora of posters based on simple geometric shapes with aptly named titles like circle. Despite the simplicity of the compositions they really pack a visual punch, fantastic work. I love these tees and posters showing simple geometric forms. They have been created by the Sabri Akin as part of his graduation design project with the aim of providing an Indie clothing line. Ryan Atkinson a designer based in Dubai, brings a fresh approach to fashion with his Hello Couture Spring/Summer collection. The graphic design is very striking with strong photographic images ovelaid with green geometric triangles of varying sizes. Scottish design agency Graphical House have created this wonderful identity for ADF Architects. The new logo encompasses a simple graphic device; the forward slash which represents typographical the letter A. The logo also represents structure and support, perfectly on brand for an architectural firm. Great work.
Sometimes a simple shape is enough to achieve a strong visual identity, as is the case with Rene Bieder's identity for Strassenfeger. The strong red triangle is a bold statement of intent which contrasts beautifully with the grid and Sans Serif type. I particularly like the bold greyscale images that are then overlaid with the bold contrasting red triangle.
As you may already know from previous posts I am a hugh fan of Berlin based photographer Matthias Heiderich. He creates beautiful minimalist compositions with simple geometric shapes and colour. Every time I visit his behance site I am rewarded with beautiful modernist buildings that are vivid, surreal and very striking. Great work.
